Realms of Rye - Release No. 01 'Citrus & Botanicals'

The first release in the Realms of Rye series, this 100% rye whisky was aged in ex-bourbon and new American oak casks. Expertly blended by the whisky making team at Sons of Vancouver Distillery, barrels were carefully chosen and married to evoke flavours of ‘Citrus and Botanicals.’ With tasting notes of orange peel, coriander seed, black tea, and raw sugar, this expression marks the beginning of an explorative journey into the diverse flavour spectrum of Canadian rye whisky.

This bottle includes a customized, handmade cedar box, crafted by the team at MarkerLabs in Vancouver, BC. Each of the 303 bottles have been hand numbered by the whisky makers.

Please note that this whisky is unfiltered, so some sediment is normal and desirable.

This limited-release collection of 100% rye whiskies from Sons of Vancouver Distillery is designed to demonstrate the many facets of flavour that rye grain can evoke. Much like the spectrum of single malts distilled in Scotland, or the bountiful array of corn bourbons made in America, we aim to share with you the many realms of rye that Canadian whisky has to offer.

Each expression will explore a distinct area of the flavour wheel, unconventional for the average rye whisky. Absent of any added flavourings or colourants, with no specialty finishing barrels used in the aging process; all tasting notes and flavours in each whisky are completely naturally occurring, amplified through the fermentation, maturation, and blending process only.
