Realms of Rye - Release No. 02 'Dark Fruit & Cacao'

The much anticipated second release from the Realms of Rye series, we continue to explore areas of the flavour wheel that rye whisky has never gone before. This expression was expertly blended by the whisky-making team at Sons of Vancouver Distillery, with barrels carefully chosen and married to evoke flavours of dark fruit and cacao.

Release No. 02 - ‘Dark Fruit & Cacao’ plunges headfirst into fruit-forward notes of stewed cherries, grape jelly, and plum brandy. Maturation in ex-bourbon and new oak barrels provides a backbone of dark chocolate, black forest cake, and cigar tobacco.

Following the precise standards set for the Realms of Rye series, all the flavour in this whisky comes from the fermentation, distillation, maturation, and blending process alone. This whisky is completely unfiltered; no flavouring or colouring has been added, and no finishing barrels were used to achieve this fruit-forward palate.
